Starter Bistro is a project that began in 2005 with a small bakery on the Petrograd Side, founded by restaurateur Alexey Ivanov.
Today, there are four locations in St. Petersburg—each with its own unique concept—as well as several franchise outlets. What remains constant is the warm hospitality and honest cuisine.

Andrey Volkov, head chef
Andrey worked his way up from a trainee at the restaurant "U Doma" to head chef. His speciality is meat and farm vegetables. He visits suppliers in person and believes that the best recipe starts with trusting the person who grew the produce.

Anna has been with us since 2010. She knows half of our guests by name, remembers who likes the table by the window and who is celebrating an anniversary. She is the person who quietly but surely sets the mood for the whole evening.

Dasha Kovalyova, pastry chef
Dasha is the magician who turns seasonal berries, chocolate and cream into little works of art. Her signature cheesecake and Belgian waffle are a must-try on any visit.
